Michigan Cider Makers Guild
We take a great deal of pride in our cider making at Leipprandt Orchards. Cider makers in the state of Michigan (in conjunction with Michigan State University and the Michigan Department of Agriculture) have been leading the way to develop quality control measures to ensure that as an industry we continue to provide a safe and wholesome product. At Leipprandt Orchards, we meet the high standards of cider production that have been established by the Michigan Cider Makers Guild, of which we are an active member.
People are often confused about the difference between apple "cider" and apple "juice". Many times, the names are used interchangeably for freshly pressed juice of apples. Most apple growers prefer to say that the fresh, no sugar added, natural beverage is "cider". Freshly pressed cider contains all the flavor and nutrients of fresh apples, but not additives or preservatives.
